Known around the office as the self-proclaimed “High Priest of Green”, Curtis Charles has graced our presence since December of 2006. Always up for a laugh, he was designated as the one to help convert EcoTimber into more of a green company through daily actions such as: reducing the use of postage labels by 50%, changing to paperclips instead of staples, encouraging employees to use their own coffee mugs in place of paper cups, and making sure that every single sheet of paper passing through Customer Service has been printed on both sides. "One person can make a difference!"

Aside from his efforts at EcoTimber, Curtis is the proud owner of a Volkswagen Westfalia van which he has converted to not only start-up on biodiesel and run on locally-produced waste vegetable oil, but has installed in the back of the van EcoTimber’s award-winning hand-scraped Hickory flooring. He’s a long time supporter of the Solar Living Institute and loves to challenge his friends and family - "sometimes over the top," he admits - to be more green. For him, being green is more than the job, it’s a way of life.

Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Curtis makes a mean organic shelled-hempseed cookie, enjoys listening to a wide variety of music, and is a trained vocalist and poet who enjoys “making noise” in his home studio.
