Zach Bockman

Zach Bockman has been working in the sustainable building materials industry since 2002 when he graduated from UC Santa Barbara with an Environmental Science degree. After apprenticing with an intentional community in Massachusetts, where he learned permaculture design, traditional Japanese timber framing, and cob construction techniques, Zach moved to Seattle and landed a job with the Environmental Home Center. He worked at EHC for three years, being promoted from a showroom sales representative to Sales Manager.

While at EHC, he developed a passion for sustainable forestry and came to know EcoTimber. He also helped start a small project-based cob construction organization that focused on reclaiming public land by transforming it into community gathering space. Zach joined EcoTimber in May of 2007 after a year-long sabbatical in Mexico and South America.

In his free time, Zach is a songwriter and plays the guitar. He enjoys studying Eastern theology and meditation techniques to balance his obsession with international politics.
