George Basile is a sustainability scientist and business advisor. George is founder and President of Thrive Unlimited, LLC, a consultancy and project development group focusing in the clean tech and green products sectors. He co-founded Bite Communications? Clean Tech &Green Products Practice. Working with a varied array of clients, ranging from Fortune 500 companies to start-ups, he helps develop integrated operational, communications, and marketing strategies. Currently, he serves on advisory boards for nonprofit and new business ventures.

George is widely published in the field of sustainability, with research articles such as ?Strategic Sustainability? in the Journal of Cleaner Production, numerous lay articles for the broader audience, and the textbook Strategic Leadership Towards Sustainability, which he co-authored. He has served as the head of International R&D and EVP at The Natural Step, where during his tenure the group won Mikhail Gorbachev?s Blue Planet Prize and the Green Cross Award for International Leadership. His extensive knowledge and experience has been put to great use working with senior teams at companies including McDonalds, the Home Depot, IDEO, Nike, Sun Microsystems, and Applied Materials to name a few. As an undergraduate, George studied Physics at the University of California at Irvine. He then pursued his doctorate in Biophysics from the University of California at Berkeley, where he co-developed a research field in emerging technology and sustainability. He has also served on the faculty at Stanford University, and presently lectures at Dominican University of Californias Sustainable Enterprise MBA program.
